The Children Peace Image of the Year 2017

The Children Peace Image of the Year will be awarded the Alfred Fried Photography Award Medal and will receive

€ 1,000.

All winners will be invited to Vienna to the award ceremony at the Austrian Parliament on 20 September 2018. And will take part in worldwide exhibitions.

Take part

You can submit your photos online until 27 May 2018. Your parents or your photo group leader may assist you. You decide how many photos to submit. You can submit individual photographs or a series of up to 20 images.

Your age

You can take part if you are 14 years or younger. Photo groups may also take part.

You are over 14 years old?

Then submit your photos to the Alfred Fried Photography Award.

Your ideas

What does peace look like? This is a very special questions and everybody has their very own ideas about it. All the more so today, when we see so much of violence and unrest.
We say: Give your imagination free reign. Make your positive attitude visible in a photo. We want to see how you imagine peace. And the best pictures will be exhibited. Across the world.

The prize

The best peace photo of the year – The Children Peace Image of the Year – wins 1000 euros. The winner and his or her parents are invited to the award ceremony in Vienna. If a photo group wins, one member of the group and his or her parents are invited to the ceremony. But all photos in the top 20 will be shown.

The competition

The honorary chair for the photo competition The Children Peace Image of the Year is Waris Dirie, a committed human rights activist. The competition is part of the Alfred Fried Photography Award, named after one of the first Nobel Peace Prize laureates.

The organizers

In Germany the photo competition The Children Peace Image of the Year is supported by the Deutscher Jugendfotopreis. The organizer of the international competition is the Alfred Fried Photography Award supported by the "Deutsches Kinder- und Jugendfilmzentrum (KJF)"

Image rights

By taking part in the photo competition, I/we confirm that my/our child is the originator of the submitted photographs and that the individuals shown in the photos have agreed to a public presentation.

By taking part the participant and/or its legal representative grant the organizer the right to publicly present the submitted photos in connection with the photo competition. In using the photo(s) the organizer will name the participant and the competition. The right of use is unlimited in terms of time, space and medium. If chosen, the participant will supply the image files in top quality.

The use of the photos by the organizer is non-exclusive and non-commercial. This means that the participant may continue to use the photos and that the organizer does not pursue any commercial aims with the submitted photos.
