Obiettivo Pace – The Alfred Fried Photography Award

On 25 September, at the Austrian Cultural Forum Rome, a photo exhibition opened of the Alfred Fried Photography Award. 40 award-winning and shortlisted photographic works that grapple with the question “What does peace look like?” – and attempt to answer it – were presented along the fence and inside of the Cultural Forum until 18 October, freely accessible and encouraging any passers-by to engage with the theme of peace.

The opening on 25 September was organized by pupils of the higher grades of the Swiss and the German schools in Rome. In their lessons the young people explored the images in depth. Groups of them presented their personal favourites and explained their choices. Then the pupils went on to debate “What constitutes peace?”, “Peace in Rome today?” and “My contribution to peace”.
