On 27 September, at the Austrian Cultural Forum Rome, a photo exhibition opens of the Alfred Fried Photography Award. 40 award-winning and shortlisted photographic works that grapple with the question “What does peace look like?” - and attempt to answer it - will be presented along the fence of the Cultural Forum until 19 October, freely accessible and encouraging any passers-by to engage with the theme of peace. Our thanks go to the participating photographers: Afshin Azarian, Jonathan Bachman, I Made Dana, Chris De Bode, Tomas Fernandez, Bettina Flitner, Paweł Franik, Johanna Maria Fritz, Raju Ghosh, Omar Havana, Lena Kaplevska, Badru Sultan Katumba, Younes Khani, David Klammer, Carla Kogelman, Dmitri Kupriyan, Alain Laboile, Rebecca Levisman, JM Lopez, Isabela Lyrio, Alex Masi, Marinka Masséus, Andres Millan, Lina Momsen, Arthur Monteiro, Cletus Nelson Nwadike, Ana Palacios, Antonio Aragon Renuncio, Martin Roemers, Jana Romanova, Somraj Sahu, Michael St Maur Sheil, Ekaterina Solovieva, Gabriel Tizón, Tommy Trenchard, M Yousuf Tushar, Wladimir Viatkin, Wladimir Viatkin, John Wilhelm, Xavier Zimbardo The opening on 27 September, at 6 pm, will be organized by pupils of the higher grades of the Swiss and the German schools in Rome. In their lessons the young people explored the images in depth. Groups of them will present their personal favourites and explain their choices. Then the pupils go on to debate “What constitutes peace?”, “Peace in Rome today?” and “My contribution to peace”.
